Winter Water - Old Mustang Mr. T, Gives a Great Lesson to Buddy - Stallion Dominant Behavior

#thinklikeahorse #ItIsNeverTheHorsesFault A great teaching moment happened in this video from one horse to another- excellent example of horse communication without Carrots, sticks, bits or horse shoes.

Stated out about Water and end up catching Mr. T giving a great lesson to Buddy. I talk about choices for water, food and shelter and then Buddy won't listen to Mr. T when he is told to stop so Mr. T has to give a lesson.

For the Horseforum.com people, Mr. T DID NOT offer Buddy a cookie to teach the lesson.

A normal behavior for higher horses, Normally Male horses (yes horses are sexist too) is to show dominance by dropping your opponent to their knees to win the fight or gain advantage. Some time this takes time, but the experienced like Mr. T it happens very fast and the lesson if followed up by "Moving the horses feet, buddy backwards) in order to drive the point home, who is higher and who is in charge, who you have to listen too and whose your Daddy... :)

Really a perfect teaching moment for how horses talk, how they do thing fast, clear and IT IS NOT PERSONAL, it is just showing your position, WHEN NECESSARY, NOT all the time. Enjoy a great lesson from a Master Horse trainer, Mr. T

My take on shivering, it takes energy and I would assume it takes more energy to move, walk or run, so to conserve horses stand still, standing still generates less heat, so a horse or human moving is less likely to shiver - however, when moving either would use more energy - my though is when a horse stands and shivers they are not getting enough energy (water and food) so they can move to generate heat so they stand still - the other cause is a horse does not have any natural shelter or wind blocks so they have to stand in one spot where they do or are locked up in a stall so they cant move, either way I think no movement, lack of energy causes shivering in human or horse.
