Square train wheels. Nonsense!! This is so often said by the same people who see "leaves on the rails" as an excuse from the rail company for the delay on the track on a bad autumn day. In this film you can hear very clearly that square wheels really exist. If the track is slippery, which is especially common in the fall because of the slippery gunk that is created when the rotting leaves fall on the track and are crushed by the train, a train will slide easily when braking. This creates a flat area on the tread of the wheel. Cabview Holland Spotter VIP Arjan, now a colleague, makes a beautiful recording of the arrival in Wijhe. He also filmed the opening shot. As a highlight, a nice compliment to your driver from the conductor is in her announcement on arrival in Zwolle. Who will be the first to mention the time of the beautiful rainbow on the way? And who knows how NS makes such a square wheel round again? And what are NS and Prorail doing to combat slippery tracks? Oh yes, the window is not that clean and therefore does not meet the strict Cabview Holland quality requirements. But I really wanted to show the square wheel. Enjoy watching!

Vierkante treinwielen. Onzin!! Dat wordt zo vaak gezegd door dezelfde mensen die "blaadjes op de rails" als smoes van de NS zien voor de vertraging die op een slechte herfstdag op het spoor ontstaat. In deze film hoor je heel duidelijk dat vierkante wielen echt bestaan. Als het spoor glad is, wat vooral in de herfst voorkomt vanwege de gladde smurrie die ontstaat als de rottende blaadjes op het spoor vallen en door de trein worden platgeperst, gaat een trein makkelijk glijden bij het remmen. Hierbij ontstaat er op het loopvlak van het wiel een vlakke plaats. Cabview Holland Spotter VIP Arjan, inmiddels een collega, maakt een prachtige opname van de aankomst in Wijhe. Het openingsshot heeft hij ook gefilmd. Het compliment van de conductrice in haar omroepbericht bij aankomst in Zwolle maakt me blij. Wie is de eerste die het tijdstip noemt van de prachtige regenboog onderweg? En wie weet hoe NS zo;n vierkant wiel weer rond maakt? En wat doen NS en Prorail om gladde sporen te bestrijden? Oja, de ruit is niet zo schoon en voldoet daarmee niet aan de strenge Cabview Holland kwaliteitseisen. Maar ik wilde toch erg graag het vierkante wiel laten horen. Veel kijkplezier!
