Day 8 Learning to Play Piano, My Favorite Things, Rodgers & Hammerstein | Simply Piano Essentials II

Day 8 of my beginner piano journey continues with My Favorite Things by Rodgers & Hammerstein on Simply Piano Essentials II.

In this video, I’m continuing to learn piano from scratch while practicing real songs as they unlock in the Simply Piano app. For this song, I worked on My Favorite Things as part of my Day 8 piano practice session and continued building confidence with timing, rhythm, note recognition, and hand coordination.

This song has a classic musical theater feel from The Sound of Music, so it gave me a different kind of practice compared to the pop, country, and movie soundtrack songs I’ve been playing. As an adult beginner learning piano, every song helps me improve one step at a time.

My current routine is to keep moving through Simply Piano Essentials II while playing songs as they unlock. Instead of waiting until the whole course is finished, I’m practicing real songs along the way so I can apply what I’m learning right away.
