SOLO SKIFF FLORIDA Fishing Traveling Adventures - Orlando, Vero Beach, Ft. Pierce - Shrimp for Bait

During the first leg of my travels along the southern coast (aka 3rd coast) of the United States of America I grabbed some lunch and alligator head in Louisiana before making my way driving in my truck along the to freeway through Mississippi and Alabama and into Florida. In Alabama I stopped at Buccee's for rest and supplies before I was greeted with full southern hospitality by my skimboarding friend Chris Ellison of Shore Lb. waterman lifestyle brand.

During stay at the Shore Lb. compound I organized all my gear (fishing, boards, electronics) before finally making my way to McWilliams Park in Vero Beach for an afternoon evening fishing session. I didn't land any fish, only had a few nibbles that didn't stick while I was throwing a VooDoo white shrimp with chartreuse colored tail artificial plastic lure/ My friends Chris, Tim and Kirby gave me the low down and some suggestions for fishing the next day.

The following day I drove my truck down to Ft. Pierce where I launched my Solo Skiff from Little Jim bridge after going inside the tackle shop at the restaurant to learn about live shrimp fishing. After figuring out how to launch the Solo Skiff I received a phone call on my cell phone from Tom Mitzlaf the founder and creator of Solo Skiff. Tom called me as he was driving from Jacksonville to the Florida Keys where I would be meeting him the following day.

After gearing up and flying the drone I went out fishing and battled some challenging currents at the inlet and winds before I finally found the right section of mangrove just after the sun went down and I was able to land a nice Jack Crevalle on the VooDoo shrimp plastic that I had bought earlier and Vero Tackle and Board Shop.
