Taiwan Convenience Stores

I couldn't believe the food and drinks on offer when I visited my first convenience store in Taiwan. It was the 7-Eleven location across the street from the YMCA near Taipei Main Station. It was my coffee stop first thing in the morning. Being a extremely bus location the line-ups were long, but the cashiers seemed to diminish the line-ups quickly with rapid fire service. This was not the kind of convenient store experience I was used to.
Convenience stores are I think apart of most people's routine in Taiwan. Whether they stop for coffee or cold drinks, a quick snack, or to pay their utility bills, pick up a parcel, or use any of the other multitude of services that are available. Whoever created this style of business model for a convenience was brilliant. Offer up as many services as possible, even if they are low margin, to create traffic, familiarity, and loyalty. No wonder there are over 10,000 convenience store locations in Taiwan.
Thanks so much for watching and if you're visiting Taiwan, I hope this video helps you take advantage of some of the very useful services these stores offer. The snacks are bad either!
