Bad Driver Update Broke Windows 11? Roll Back & Reinstall Safely
Did a driver update suddenly break your sound, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, camera, or graphics performance? A bad driver can make a perfectly working Windows 11 PC feel unstable almost immediately after an update.
The good news is that you usually do not need random driver fixer apps to solve it. Windows already includes safer recovery tools like Device Manager rollback, official driver reinstall options, Optional Updates, and System Restore.
In this guide, I’ll show you the safest driver recovery path before you try risky tools or reinstall Windows.
✅ Step 1: Identify what broke after the driver update
✅ Step 2: Open Device Manager
✅ Step 3: Find the affected device category
✅ Step 4: Open Properties → Driver tab
✅ Step 5: Use Roll Back Driver if available
✅ Step 6: Restart the PC and test the device again
✅ Step 7: Reinstall the official driver if rollback is unavailable
✅ Step 8: Check Windows Update → Optional Updates for stable drivers
✅ Step 9: Use System Restore if the PC is widely unstable
✅ Step 10: Pause updates temporarily only while testing stability
⚠️ Tip: Avoid random Driver Booster or Driver Updater tools. Use Windows Update, your laptop manufacturer, or the official NVIDIA, AMD, Intel, Realtek, Qualcomm, or device vendor driver pages only.
