Meeting Rael, we thought she wasn't part of those learners because of her age and lack of school uniform. We later discovered Rael was a still a standard seven pupil who had dropped out because of jiggers. She's a special case and the eldest in the school. The younger pupils had been making fun of her which always made her so embarrassed and finally stay home. After the jigger digging session, we had to sit the whole school down and educate them about jiggers. That's all they need to know and the stigma always goes away.
