Ahead of Max Cooper’s immersive live shows at Salzburg Easter Festival and London’s Barbican Centre, a behind the scenes documentary by Wilderthorn @wilderthorn presenting the creative process of ‘Seme’. Features live footage from performances at Printworks, Max removes some of the perceived barriers between classical and club cultures.

Episode 5 - An introduction by Max Cooper:

“The Barbican is one of my favourite spaces in the world.

That hall, and the people who run it, who play there, and who visit, have been so central to my journey as a musician.

It was the first room I did my 3D/AV show, for example, and the UK premiere of Glassforms reworking Philip Glass scores. And it’s the space of many inspiring moments for me as a visitor to hear others’ music there.

So now the job is how to build on all of that and present the next step in musical and visual development.

To be honest, for me, it feels like a bedroom DJ has smuggled themselves into high classical culture and who knows what will happen.

But I love that. I'm confident in my craft, and confident that electronic music culture is as rich with art as any other form of music.”
