Watch a free movie in NYC at the prettiest theater (with Lin-Manuel Miranda!)

Here is your reminder to set your alarms for 10am this Monday to get tickets to their next show! The Movies at the United Palace program at United Palace in Washington Heights has returned this year with movies for the community, centered around the theme The Season of Community. Visit the theater on select dates to enjoy free movies and a talk-back hosted by Lin-Manuel Miranda

🍿 The United Palace is known as a place where spirituality, art, entertainment, and community unite.

🍿 The ornate United Palace opened in 1930 as the Loew’s 175th Street Theatre in 1930 as a deluxe movie theater and vaudeville house, the last of the five Wonder Theatres in New York City and New Jersey. The United Palace is currently the fourth largest venue of its kind in Manhattan, with more than 3,000 seats.

🍿 Since their return in 2013, movies have been regularly shown at the United Palace, with almost 100 feature films screened to date. Today, the theater not only hosts movies but also concerts and community events.

🍿 Tickets are available for reservation a week before the screening. Upcoming movies include West Side Story and In The Heights. Tickets for In The Heights are available Monday, the 28th. Comment “link” and we will DM you the info!

🍿 After each screening, Lin-Manuel Miranda leads a talk with other filmmakers.
