Bitaxe (Gamma, Supra, etc.) is fun open-source hardware for learning Bitcoin mining—plug-and-play, quiet, low power (~15-40W), and gives you real hashrate to solo mine or pool. I’ve bought several (PlebSource, SoloSatoshi, CryptoCloaks, eBay) and run experiments vs. CPU/DGB setups.
Pros: Educational AF—teaches pools, algos, wallets. Feels sovereign. Rare solo block wins happen (some hit big $200k+ jackpots). Great for hobby .
Cons: Profitability sucks in 2026—tiny hashrate means ~$0.05-0.20 (cents) day max (often break-even or loss after ~$0.20–$0.50 power cost). Overheats quick, screens fail sometimes, DOA units exist. Way outperformed by cloud/phone mining or even old CPUs for consistent earnings.
Bottom line: Buy for the lottery ticket, learning, and fun—not profit. If you’re chasing real money, skip it and go CPU/cloud. Solid community though! 🚀
