Potential Flow Theory (Part - 2) - Mr.G.Madhan Kumar

This lecture video detailed the potential flow equations and elementary flow models indigenous and principle of superimposition method. The potential flow stream function and potential function definitions are presented. The potential flow stream function and potential function of elementary flow models such as uniform flow, uniform flow with angle of attack, source or sink flow and vortex flow is discussed with simple empirical relations. The potential flow stream function and potential function derivatives of elementary flow models that yield the velocity field and velocity field distribution is also discussed. The principle of superimposition of uniform flow with source flow i.e., Rankine half body, uniform flow with source-sink pair i.e., Rankine Oval body, Doublet flow i.e., source flow and sink flow kept in infinitely small distance were discussed. In the meantime, the stagnation point, velocity field, potential function, stream function, potential lines and streamlines of the above-mentioned superimposed elementary flow models were also discussed. The main system of airfoil invention through these elementary flow models will be discussed later.
