The Grenson Flight Boot

During the Second World War, Grenson was one of the first factories to offer its help and support to the government. One particular contribution was a boot made for RAF bomber pilots with a shearling lined leg that could be detached by simply unzipping it. RAF boots would have been lined with shearling for warmth and protection when flying. We’ve taken that original boot as inspiration and have designed a more practical boot with two detachable collars: one lined in white shearling and the other in a dark brown shearling. These collars can be detached to reveal a classic derby boot. The uppers are made from saddle brown hatch grain. This hard wearing leather is a copy of the famous Russia Grain, which is made by the renowned Chicago tannery, Horween. The boots are made with our natural leather “Triple Welt” construction and finished with a smart Thames rubber outsole for grip and performance.
