The B Type bus dates from 1910 and was London's first successful liquid fuel motorbus, although the battery-electric Electrobus would probably have been equally successful had its inventor not been a crook and a swindler.

The bus seen in this film is a restored original from 100+ years ago - not a replica.

When WW1 started 1,000 of these B-type buses buses were requisitioned for the army and sent to Belgium and France, with many of them becoming troop carriers - such as the khaki coloured bus seen in this film

This film is a still image slide show that uses some of the photographs of this B Type bus which can be seen on my Flickr photostream.

The images of the bus in passenger service livery were taken at the RM60 event (which celebrated 60 years of Routemaster buses) in August 2014.

The versions in war troop carrier Khaki livery were taken outside the London Transport Museum in September 2014. I just happened to be there during a photoshoot for their own publicity - which included an actor wearing a military style outer clothing who posed as the bus driver.
