Do book reviews need to be nice?
There is a murky history of authors responding to negative online reviews - Kathleen Hale being one of the most infamous examples. After yet another bout of book twitter drama sparked by an author reading a bad review on Goodreads and reacting badly... I thought I'd do a video musing on book reviews. Who are they for? Do they need to be nice? Do they need to be constructive? Should we tag authors in them? Etc.
