Low Mackenzie River water levels strand some communities
Water levels in Great Slave Lake are now the lowest ever recorded thanks to two years of drought, which is also drying up parts of the Mackenzie River — a major transportation route for a wide swath of the Northwest Territories — and leaving some communities unable to ship in goods and supplies.
