Sharing miniature cute Gnome DIY craft ideas which has secret compartment to keep teeny-tiny things. I was thinking about Doraemon with its magic pocket when making this little gnome sculpture. You don't see that you have something in his belly until you lift up the upper body and tada...you'll have space to keep your tiny secret treasure. LOL

Should we hire him to keep our fairy house bank safe? I thought I'll do that but he is too cute and the robber will not scared of him but love him. He is just a gardener anyway. Look, he has miniature spade and planter pot in his belly. Let this gnome gardener helping the fairies with planting then. Ha..ha..ha...again...that's just my imagination.

In this video you have 3 options to make the mold for the body: tennis ball, Styrofoam, or crumpled old magazine or news paper. I chose styrofoam.

And there are 2 method to make the round shape for gnome's belly: with plaster cloth or paper mache by pasting pieces of paper with PVA glue. You will see that I use plaster cloth in the video.

As for the air dry clay, I use homemade paper clay (video link: https://youtu.be/iu0evRb8R0Q) but of course you can use any type/ brand of air dry clay.
Another option for making your own clay like I did for fairy house tree log project is to make clay texture paste (video link: https://youtu.be/MFasd5NKVNk) as a base and than add more plaster of Paris until you can mold the paste like clay.
