International Day of Remembrance for Fallen Officers

This year’s Day of Remembrance for Fallen Officers has additional significance in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Like the communities they serve, thousands of law enforcement officers around the world have lost their lives to this invisible threat.

This, in addition to the other dangers they face on a daily basis.

As Secretary General of INTERPOL, on Sunday 7 March, the designated Day of Remembrance, I call on everyone to pause and reflect on the law enforcement lives lost, as we honour the memory of those who have been killed, or died on duty.

We recognise their sacrifice and the loss to their family, friends and colleagues.
