How to Cook Filipino Hotcake (Simple and Easy Recipe)

FILIPINO HOTCAKE is a classic Pinoy dessert that are often sold at streetside stalls, near schools and other densely-populated areas like the market. They are thin, fluffy, and have that signature yellow color. Before serving, you usually slather each hotcake with margarine and granulated sugar on top. It looks like the usual pancake but Filipinos call it “hotcakes” because they are best consumed when hot.

INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 1 tbsp. Baking Powder
- 2 tbsp. White Sugar
- 1/8 tsp. Salt (Pinch of Salt)
- 1 large Egg
- 1 cup Milk or Water
- 1 tsbp. Oil
- 1/4 tsp. Vanilla
- 1/8 to 1/4 tsp. Food Color (Yellow)

FOR TOPPINGS:
- Margarine
- White Sugar
