Do you really need a Watch Winder? In this review about a Buben & Zorweg luxury watch winder I tell and show you how I feel!

Buben and Zorweg winders are the Patek Philippes of the market, pretty much the best watch winders around. The one I'm reviewing here is around $10,000. There are other nice and popular brands out there such as Orbita, etc.

So back to the question...Do you really NEED watch winders? The flat out answer is NO! A watch winder can actually harm some watches if you don't know what you're doing!

So what is the real reason any watch collector gets a winder? The basic answer is because it is cool! The cool factor is a big determining factor when it comes to many consumer luxury products and services – watch winding is no different!

The best way to store the Buben & Zorweb watch box that I show on the video, in my opinion, is in a watch safe. You don't want to make this expensive case so easily accessible because it does draw quite a bit of attention and it does not provide any protection whatsoever for your watches. It's really just a box.

Can a Winder Harm a Watch?

Not every watch is omnidirectional on the rotor, so the direction that some watches are wound is important. You need to know what you're doing with a watch winder, so that you do not overwind and even damage the watches that you keep on the rotating winder itself. So, in conclusion, read the directions that come with your watch winder carefully, so that you can rest assured that you're setting up the correct winding position for your luxury watches.
