Dart's LS Next engine blocks feature splayed 4-bolt mains in contrast to the OE style 6-bolt mains. This kit enables mounting of a GM windage tray.
While CNC precision is not essential, the speed and automation of our 5-axis makes manufacturing more economical than it would be for us to use our manual Bridgeport mill.

Here are some tips for engine builders. First, this kit adds additional mounting points for a variety of pick-up tubes. In our experience, some nipping and tucking is required to get certain oil pump pickups mounted to the caps. Most commonly it involves reshaping and/or extending the pickup's mounting tab. Another consideration to keep in mind is the dipstick. The Dart LS Next SHP block has a dipstick provision in the side of the block. To use it rather installing one in the pan directly, you need to cut a hole in the windage tray.
