Jamaica Travel Diary | Let Go and Live

Welcome to my channel and thank you for watching. I love to capture memories, I never thought it would turn into a Youtube Channel. With you, I am sharing a memory from February of 2018. This memory is meaningful to me because it was the first time going to Jamaica in many years. I used to come here more often, but there was a memory here that was painful to return to. So I avoided this place in order to avoid any memory triggers. It is like I resented the entire island over something one person did. I was nervous at first and anxious about how I might react to being reminded of the past, but soon into my visit I realized how much I was reminded of all the good memories, how much I loved spending time with my family, and how much new memories I would have missed out on by not returning. It’s 2019 now and I was reflecting on the negative things that have happened to me in my life and I realized that holding on was taking up way too much of my energy. When I finally learned to let go, that is when I started living again. It is easier said than done, but I've been trying to do this thing where I don’t attach places or things to people because when something goes wrong, you are going to resent that place or thing for reminding you of that person or situation. You have to realize that somethings that go wrong have nothing to do with the place or the timing…sometimes its just the wrong people. Do not let them take away your joy. Before you take your first breath in the morning tell yourself that every day is a new beginning and live that new beginning.
