This video shows a Ship Collison incident that happened between a Cruise Ship, a River Cruise Ship & the Pier.
On June 2, 2019, MSC Cruises operated MSC Opera Cruise Ship collided with a river cruise ship called the River Countess, whilst docking in Venice, Italy.
The collision resulted as a result of the Cruise Ship unable to slow down to the requisite maneuvering speed while docking the ship.
Apart from the damages to the ships, five people suffered minor injuries in the incident.
No fatalities were reported.
MS MSC Opera is a cruise ship built in 2004, carrying 2,679 passengers in 1,071 cabins, and with a crew complement of approximately 728, currently operated by Swiss company MSC Cruises. She served as the flagship of the company until MSC Musica entered service in 2006.
