Brokers are currently paying 70% CASH interest for your AMC shares, they're clearly desperate for AMC shares, but why? where did it all go wrong?

Well after the FTX synthetics were removed, 'false locates' could no longer be used, therefore, the shorts can't create any new synthetics, just re-use the old ones.
