Perentie vs Landcruiser 4x4 Waterworks aka Ice Cream Hill

We put the Maxxis Trepador tyres in both radial and bias ply flavours to the test up Waterworks Track in Lithgow. Waterworks also known as Ice Cream Hill by the local bike riders is a very steep and loose trail. Grip is hard to get at certain obstacles and you can really see the tyres working hard trying to grab.

Farmers Creek in Lithgow runs near the trail and this has been used to name the track in recent times. When you get to the top there are a couple of lookouts that are worth a visit. You do however need to drive back down as the trail continues into private property.

The Toyota Landcruiser 80 Series is on 35 inch Bias Ply Maxxis Trepadors (Hard Compund) while the Land Rover 110 Perentie (Defender) is on 35 inch Radial Treps. Both four wheel drives are twin locked with the Landcruiser on 4 inch lift while the Perentie is on 2 inch lift.
