Playing Drum Set in a Holiday Parade

Yes we (drummers) have the power to excite sleepy towns and make kids smile! So if you have the opportunity to do something like this, do it. I'm happy to answer any questions about details of the trailer/float.

Tips for playing a drum set in a parade:
-BE LOUD. Volume is more important than what you actually play. I cut my speed in half by bashing the kit so hard, and was wearing gloves for most of the route, but that was the right choice.
-BE STABLE. I used a Gibraltar Stealth Rack and Side Rack. It made the kit relatively wobble-free. Otherwise consider sandbags on your stands. Yes, having the drums (or you) fall over during the parade would be entertaining but it's not advised.
