Dragon Ball is notorious for its long filler sagas that’re as weird as they’re numerous. Most of these filler episodes aren’t worth revisiting and you should probably just watch the streamlined versions of the series, but there are a few episodes that actually have some merit.

For those who don’t know, filler results when the anime adaptation catches up to the manga and must fill up time so the author can get ahead in the story. This was a very prevalent issue in Dragon Ball, as there’s a lot of filler throughout both Dragon Ball and DBZ, resulting in anime-original story arcs like the Garlic Jr. saga and/or slice-of-life moments between major battles.
