OTR 40: ABACO CAYS AFTER DORIAN

The Cays of Abaco, or, the backbone of Abaco, were major attractions for tourists and provided a home away from home for second home owners. Yet, many of cays around Abaco and Grand Bahama are struggling to recover.

This show focuses on three Cay’s, Green Turtle Cay, Spanish Cay and Guana Cay. This year, for many of these Cays has been the best year they have ever seen economically in years. However, after Dorian, obtaining and maintaining simple necessities can be a challenge.

This episode shows interviews from survivors in the Cays, footage of the airport, the marina, and, the efforts of the residents in restoring their nearly flattened community.
