My well filling up during a storm!!

So it turns out I have a 60 cubic meter well/cistern carved out of the rock beneath my house. It gathers rain from the huge stone flat roof.... Typical 18th century Malta design. No more water bills other than drinking water once I have the well re connected!! The noise was deafening!!
