Security DENIED My QR Code in Paris | Aldren Vlogs

Waking up at 6:00 AM to see Europe's biggest military parade seemed like a great idea... until security told me I couldn't come in. 🛑

Welcome to Aldren Stuff! For this vlog, we are hitting the streets of Paris for the massive Bastille Day (14 July) 2026 parade. Most days, 6:00 AM is the time I am usually going to sleep, but today was different. I managed to score an exclusive QR code invite to get past the intense security perimeters on the Champs-Élysées, so I got dressed, got ghosted by my friend who was supposed to come with me, and hopped on the RER B from Sevran-Livry to Saint-Michel Notre-Dame, transferring to the RER C to Invalides.

Then, the chaos started.

When I got out of the station, I saw a massive crowd of people and thought, "Ah, they must know where they're going." I followed them like a sheep and stood in a massive security line for thirty minutes. Finally, I got to the front, pulled out my VIP QR code, and... the security guard completely denied me. I was in the wrong line, at the wrong gate, on the wrong side of the event. Cue the absolute panic as I had to scramble through the Parisian crowds to find our actual entrance before the event started. Luckily, my friend finally called, we met up, sprinted to the right gate, and made it through!

From the roaring fighter jets of the Patrouille de France flying directly over the Arc de Triomphe to the ground literally shaking from the heavy military tanks, the stress was 100% worth it. We wrapped up the day surviving the intense summer heat and crashing in a local Parisian park to decompress. If you aren't from France, you might be wondering what all this chaos is for! Bastille Day, or La Fête Nationale, is celebrated every year on July 14th. It marks the anniversary of the Storming of the Bastille in 1789, a major turning point in the French Revolution. Today, it is celebrated with the oldest and largest regular military parade in Europe. The 2026 theme was "Strategic Awakening," honoring the dedication of the Armed Forces and Internal Security Forces. It was an incredible sight to see international troops, the Coalition of the Willing, and a special tribute to the 400th anniversary of the French Navy all marching through the heart of Paris!

💡 MY TOP TIPS FOR SURVIVING PARIS MEGA-EVENTS 💡

Check Your Gate! Do not do what I did. If you have a QR code or a ticket for a grandstand (tribune), look at the exact access point on your map (like Accès Sud via Alma-Marceau or Iéna) and go straight there. Do not just follow the crowd!

Arrive Early: The parade access opens at 7:30 AM. If you don't have a grandstand seat, you have to arrive at the crack of dawn to get a viewing spot against the barriers.

Plan Your Metro Route: Stations directly under the parade route (like Champs-Élysées - Clemenceau) are always closed for security. Use stations like Invalides or Musée d'Orsay and walk in.

Prepare for the Weather: The Parisian summer heat is no joke. The morning started chilly, but by 11:00 AM, we were baking in the sun. Bring a reusable water bottle and find shade!
