How To Fix Moisture Problems In A Crawl Space

If you've ever needed a video showcasing every aspect of moisture problems inside of a crawl space, pay close attention to this one!

As soon as I opened this crawl space door, I immediately noticed there was no ground barrier. Due to the excessive humidity, all of the floor insulation was falling from the floor joists. The ground was soaking wet! It had been consistently holding water around the entire inside perimeter of the crawl space. The floors were weakening by the month, and structural repairs had to be addressed as well.

Once we had all of the old insulation removed, the mold man finished his treatment, then we had to dig and pour new concrete footers. Any problematic areas had new joists added, along with a new support beam, and flooring jacks, strengthening everything up, so that the homeowner no longer experienced any of the weakened/bouncing floors he had reported initially.

Once the structural repairs were complete, we began the full inside perimeter French drain system, leading all captured water to our sump pump basin, where it is then sent outside the home via a discharge line, no longer being able to create the humidity issues it had been leading up to our arrival.

After the standing water issue was eradicated, we began our world famous crawl space encapsulation service with our thick 20 mil poly, and Santa Fe dehumidifier system.

Once we wrapped up the encapsulation, we installed our new r19 poly-encapsulated floor insulation, built a brand new crawl space entry door, and as soon as I get it opened up, you are not going to believe this before and after transformation!
