How to Make Yema Cake/ Easy Cake Recipe/ Bart’s Kitchen
Yema cake is a Filipino chiffon cake with a custard filling known as yema. It is generally prepared identically to mamón, with the only difference being that it incorporates yema either as frosting, as filling, or as part of the cake batter. Yema is a custard-like combination of milk and egg yolks. Reference- Wikipedia
Dry Ingredients
1 1/4 cup Cake Flour (Sifted)
1/2 Tbsp Baking Powder
1/2 Tsp Salt
1/2 cup Granulated White Sugar
Wet Ingredients
4 Egg Yolks
1/4 cup Vegetable Oil
1/2 can Evaporated Milk (370ml per can)
Meringue Ingredients
4 Egg Whites
1/2 Tsp Cream of Tartar
1/4 cup Granulated White Sugar
Yema Frosting Ingredients
1/2 can Evaporated Milk (370ml per can)
1 can Condensed Milk (354ml per can)
125 ml All-Purpose Cream
4 Egg Yolks
1 Tbsp Cornstarch dissolved in 1 Tbsp of warm water
2 Tbsp Unsalted Butter (Softened/Room Temparature)
1 Tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
Bake for 30-40 minutes at 350 degrees
