Coronavirus in the White House +++ Nurses on the front line | Coronavirus latest news
The coronavirus has reached the US White House. People working with US President Donald Trump have been instructed to wear face masks, after two aides tested positive for COVID-19.
The virus has so far killed more than 80,000 people in the US. The new infections at the White House come as the President pressures state governors to relax pandemic restrictions.
On International Nurses' Day, and the 200th birthday of Florence Nightingale, nurses around the world find themselves on the front lines of the battle against COVID-19. And from these front lines, many of them are pleading for more protective gear.
Spain has started allowing restaurants, hotels and museums in some cities to open, but almost half the country has yet to meet the criteria for lockdowns to be lifted. Even in cities that have received the green light, many business owners are despondent.
Other developments in the coronavirus pandemic:

- Germany has also seen a rise in new infections after some relaxtion of lockdown restrictions. The government will contribute 750-Million euros to develop a vaccine.
- After the first day of eased restrictions in France, the country reported an increase in deaths from the virus on Monday.
