(lyrics)
You called the other day, I was worlds away
I knew not what to say yet I hope these words find their way
My mind surrenders the memories of joy and brings me to tears
Please remember that silly’s not allowed
And laughing will be disavowed
What does it mean that word to be kin?
What do you want it to mean now
I would take your pain if I could
(Refrain)
What to say when there’s nothing left to say..
What to think when you think you’ve thought it through
How can I help when you’re not in need?
What does it matter, how can it matter
Is it too late, can we still be brothers?
You called the other day, I was worlds away
You and I are special verses of an obscure melee
In my moments of melancholy, those moments of doubt
You were there for me when I needed to air out
It was another world and another life
You didn’t need me, never sought to see
What do you want it to mean now
I would take your pain if I could
(Refrain)
What to say when there’s nothing left to say
What to think when you think you’ve thought it through
How can I help when you’re not in need?
What does it matter, how can it matter
Is it too late, are we still brothers?
Seeing you over the years always seemed so unreal
We lived some good times and some with less zeal
Wading through the pain of all those moments opaque
I’d like to think now, perhaps it’s not too late
What did it mean then, what can it mean now
As time drains the sands from this existence
I’d like you to know and I’d like to remember
(Refrain)
What to say when there’s nothing left to say
What to think when you think you’ve thought it through
How can I help when you’re not in need?
What does it matter, how can it matter
It’s not too late, we are still brothers!
It’s not too late, we are still brothers!
I’d want you to know and I’d like to remember
We are still brothers!
( end lyrics)
The true story:
A strange and misunderstood boy from Tulsa runs far away to discover his truth.
A brilliant and gifted girl from Perugia finds him and understands his heart.
Their worlds collide and Silly’s Not Allowed is birthed.
A tale of and for the masses of:
Bridges burned; lives rebuilt,
Passing time,
A sense of helplessness,
Childhood ruminations interred in the heart; things unspoken confined by emotions.
Enduring brotherhood, Steadfast love,
When all is said and done
Is it enough?
Is it enough for brothers? Is it enough for humanity?
Despite our differences,
Can we still be brothers…?
Are we still brothers…?
We are still brothers!!!
