Noe's Story | Surgical Brigades at the Saint Benedict Joseph Medical Center

While still a young man, with his whole before him, Noe was tragically shot and paralyzed. Due to a variety of health complications, most notably the development of aggressive and persistent bedsores, Noe was at one point bedridden for two straight years. During this time one of Noe's hips fused making him unable to bend his leg, use a wheelchair, and leave his house.

Dr. Kelley, an American surgeon who regularly takes part in one of Saint Benedict Joseph Medical Center's surgical brigades, met Noe, learned about his story, and after a period of testing and preparation was able to operate on his leg, creating a false joint, and ultimately giving Noe the chance to bend his leg and use a wheel chair.

In this video, Noe shares his story, one of the many stories of patients who have had the quality of their lives dramatically enhanced because of the surgical brigades hosted by Saint Benedict Joseph Medical Center and made possible through the many generous surgeons, nurses, and other medical professionals who so generously put their gifts at the service of their brothers and sisters in need.
