More than 3.1 million people have fled Ukraine since the Russian invasion began on February 24, 2022. Thousands of Ukrainian refugees have been arriving at the Polish border each day with only what they can carry. For many, that includes a beloved dog, cat, hamster or bird – pets that offer at least some connection to the homes they left behind.
