Making an impact: preserving the earth
In this challenging and beautifully delivered 45 minute talk, Kate links the ecological crisis to theology. Inspired by Pope Francis's encyclical "Laudato Sii" as well as his namesake St Francis, she takes us on a remarkable tour of theological thinking, which leads us to the question - are we open to conversion in the way that we feel and act about our environment, and are we open to this on a daily basis?
The ideas expressed and references mentioned in this talk were largely taken from reading the work of Dr Carmody Grey, Durham University; specifically: 'The Only Creature God Willed For Its Own Sake: Anthropocentrism in Laudato Si' and 'Gaudium et Spes'
