I tested the sounds of an early Rohloff speedhub without its hub shell.
In some gears you nearly cannot hear anything, in some gears a smooth clicking, in some, especially the freeewheeling a kind of tictac.

The smooth clicking is in 3, 5,6,7 and (regarding the technique of the IGH +7) 10,12,13,14, where the second planetary gear is active.

Freewheeling is louder (at this speedhub! At a different speedhub of mine freewheeling is hardly to hear)

The sound of the video is not hifi, so it gives just an idea, in which gear you can hear which kind of sound.
In reality the clicking is much more gentle than the tictac of freewheeling
Assembled in a wheel and in the frame of the bicycle the hub`s noise can be intensified
The oil will soften the noise
During development Rohloff added elements to soften the noise

Each speedhub can have its own sound (in a certain range)
