Ivana Ivkovic / EVROVIZION.CROSSING STORIES AND SPACES
The artist from Serbia Ivana Ivkovic’s gained international recognition by shifting the infamous classical roles between women and men in her drawings, performances and site-specific works. As she works with the local community and local performers, who are not from the art scene, it is very interesting for her to be part of EVROVIZION as the project also provides the opportunity to establish a practice of site-specific performance locally. The notions of identity and gendered experience play a key role in Ivnovic’s work. MONUMENT: NO ONE IS LOST which is shown for first time in Novi Sad within EVROVIZION project problematises the process of deconstruction and reconstruction of gender roles in the political, ethical and symbolic reflection of the biopolitics of female perception.
