UNEMPLOYMENT EXTENSION, BENEFITS & SECOND STIMULUS CHECK & PACKAGE UPDATE 11/22/2020 (THE TRUTH!)

Today we have a stimulus & unemployment update. First I will get you caught up on two states proposing new programs in the last 48 hours for their residents as one literally hasn’t used about 8o% of the state and local government funding they were allocated. Also I want to share an article that came out this morning! Reminding us that the unemployment benefits from the Cares Act are set to expire at the end of the year upheaving 12 million Americans in a dire situation HOWEVER they provide a list of other federal stimulus programs provided in the CARES ACT that many forgot about but need to be reminded of to take advantage of right now! Lastly I have the latest on the overall stimulus package negotiations for you and watch a video clip of one representative members plea to congress to get a stimulus deal done and many are saying it’s so on point and some are saying its crazy when the person who makes the most sense in congress, is AOC!

Hawaii has used less than $20 million of the $100 million of their federal cares act funds. They are now suggesting using some of it to extend their eviction moratorium well into 2021 as the current one is set to expire at the end of the year.

And Oregon is one step ahead of Hawaii as tomorrow Oregon lawmakers will have their committee meeting for a proposal to extend their state eviction moratorium out until June of 2021.

The CARES Act helped millions facing unemployment with an extra $600 per week benefit that expired at the end of July, and extended typical unemployment benefits to 39 weeks, adding to the 26-week period that's usually available.
But, the CARES Act's provisions for pandemic-related unemployment benefits are set to expire on December 26, 2020, leaving about 12 million Americans without assistance, according to estimates from The Century Foundation. Some benefits will still be available through state unemployment offices, but the full amount may not be available to everyone.
For anyone looking for assistance after other benefits expire, there are several government programs to help with expenses, from food and groceries to student loan payments.
