Courage in the Big Stinkin' City: Courage the Cowardly Dog Facts #couragethecowardlydog

This is the episode that earned recognition at the 2001 Golden Reel Awards for its exceptional sound editing in an animated TV series. Interestingly, the music in this episode is shared with another iconic one featuring Dr. Le Quack, where Muriel plays the sitar.

You’ll also notice a familiar horse-drawn carriage from "The Demon in the Mattress" making an appearance as Courage journeys to a mysterious abandoned building. Pay attention when Courage enters; there’s a faint shout of "Open the door!" in the background, adding to the eerie atmosphere. And then, there are some surprising nods to classic monsters like King Ghidorah and a shark that bears a resemblance to the one from Jaws, living inside the building.

On the lighter side, there's an ongoing gag about Eustace’s underwear preferences. While he’s a briefs supporter here, fans will remember he usually opts for boxers. This spawned the memorable "Briefs! Boxers!" scene, which later turned into a well-loved Internet meme, much like the Violin Girl. Speaking of which, the Violin Girl initially appears with a demonic face to spook Courage, but by the end, her appearance changes to something more human, adding to the episode's unique blend of eerie and humorous moments.
