US Venezuela Tensions | US Seizes Another Oil Tanker With Alleged Ties To Venezuela

U.S. forces have seized another sanctioned oil tanker, the Motor Tanker Veronica, in the Caribbean Sea as part of the Trump administration’s intensified campaign to enforce sanctions and take control of Venezuela’s oil production and distribution. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said the vessel had previously passed through Venezuelan waters in defiance of a U.S. quarantine on sanctioned ships and was boarded without incident by a Coast Guard tactical team with support from Marines and sailors. The Veronica is the sixth such tanker seized in recent weeks under this broader effort.
