Imogen's Christmas 2015 By Joey Mallari

This is Imogen’s 3rd Christmas. I like to think this is start of a fun Christmas traditions for our family. The previous ones were fun but let’s face it she was just an infant and barely walking at that time. This Christmas she now have a good understanding of what Christmas is about, who is Santa, why give gifts, listening and singing Christmas songs. She has her two favorite songs that we sing together. She loves Santa Clause is coming to town and Jingle bells. She can sing both songs on her own and loves to sing to us.
Christmas eve, my in-law have a Christmas Eve tradition with their best friend’s family. Both family alternate Christmas Eve Dinner every year. The tradition started when both my in-laws were just newly married thirty something years ago. Both families have grandkids now and the tradition continues.
Christmas morning. Immy woke up and discovered all these gifts under the Christmas tree. Excitement in her eyes was priceless and so rewarding. After opening her gifts at our house, we got ready and headed to her grandma’s house to open more gifts and have Christmas brunch with them. After spending some time with her grandma and grandpa we drove to my brother’s house to open more gifts and to spend some Christmas time with them. We had Filipino food and some delicious cakes at their house. I asked her what she like about Christmas and she whisper to my ear this words “I love Christmas”. Immy was exhausted from opening all her gifts and she fell asleep as soon as we put her on her car seat. We cannot wait for Christmas 2016!
