girls trip to Malta 🇲🇹 exploring Valetta, snorkelling in St. Paul's Bay, Mellieha and Blue Grotto!

This is from my girls trip to Malta with my cousin and I’m still not over how magical this island is. This vlog captures the best of what we experienced—from exploring the charming streets of Valletta, to snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters of St. Paul’s Bay, to soaking up the sun in Mellieħa, and finishing it all off with a jaw-dropping sunset ride to and from the famous Blue Grotto. 🌊✨

To be honest, Malta wasn’t even at the top of my travel list… until I went. And now? I want everyone to know what an underrated paradise it is. If you love sunshine, Mediterranean culture, turquoise water, ancient history, and food that makes you want to dance, this is your sign to visit Malta ASAP.

Our trip started in Valletta, Malta’s capital city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. And WOW. Every corner is so photogenic, from the narrow stone alleys to the colorful balconies that make every photo pop. I had no idea how much charm this city packed into such a small area. We spent hours just wandering the streets, stopping for iced coffees, gelato, espresso, fresh pastizzi, and people-watching in the piazzas. I even had a such nice moments overlooking the Grand Harbour and it honestly made me tear up. There's something about seeing ancient forts and boats passing through that makes you feel like you're part of something timeless.

Next up: St. Paul’s Bay. We wanted to find the best place to snorkel and kept hearing about the north coast, so we went for it. The water was WILDLY clear—like, see-the-bottom-without-a-mask clear. We swam, floated, and snorkeled around for hours. One of the highlights was spotting tiny fish swimming near the rocks and laughing at how dramatic we were trying to dive for the GoPro shots 😂. There’s something so peaceful about being in the ocean with your best girls, no noise, just the sound of your breath and the sea.

After a salty day in the sea, we headed toward Mellieħa. This beach town is more relaxed and family-friendly, but don’t sleep on it—it’s so beautiful. The views from the cliffside spots are insane, and we found a local spot with seafood pasta that I’m still dreaming about. One thing I loved was how easy it was to get around by bus or Bolt. We didn’t rent a car and still felt like we saw so much. Malta is surprisingly well-connected for such a small country.

And then came the Blue Grotto… I don’t even know how to describe this place in a way that does it justice. Picture bright turquoise caves that literally glow when the sunlight hits the water at just the right angle. We took a small traditional boat out with a local guide, and it was one of those pinch-me moments. The contrast between the dark rocks and the glowing water is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. It felt like a real-life postcard. I didn’t edit the footage in this vlog that much—Malta really is that blue.

This was also one of those trips where the vibes were just right. No stress, no crazy expectations, just flow. We woke up when we wanted to, grabbed breakfast at cafes we stumbled upon, and planned our days based on what felt good. That’s what I love about traveling with the right people—it doesn’t matter where you are, you’ll find joy everywhere. But Malta seriously made it easy.

I tried to capture everything on camera, from our walks in Valletta to our impromptu dance parties around town. I’m so excited to share this vlog because I really think Malta deserves more hype. It's such a perfect destination for a girls getaway, a summer solo trip, or even a romantic escape. The mix of beaches, history, food, and culture makes it feel like three destinations in one.

Also, I just want to say: if you’re watching this and thinking about taking your first international girls trip—do it. Travel has changed my life, and this vlog is a reminder of how freeing and empowering it is to explore the world with people who make you feel like your best self. Malta gave us sunshine, swims, laughter, and some of the most epic memories ever. This wasn’t just a vacation—it was a celebration of friendship, sisterhood and freedom.
