A Review of the Sony A7RIV in Rocky Mountain National Park
Rocky Mountain National Park, is a great place to experience what Colorado has to offer. The breathtaking mountain views and the abundance of wildlife make it a great place to test out the new 61 megapixel Sony a7rIV.
Mitch is very optimistic about this camera and what Sony has improved, it feels to be a complete camera. There are no compromises with this camera, Sony has knocked it out of the park on this one. The viewfinder is a great upgrade from the previous version, almost doubling the resolution. A small detail that Mitch is excited about is the ability to change the color of the autofocus points to red. Speaking about the autofocus, Mitch runs fast pass the camera to test the wide-area and real time tracking autofocusing system. The test is spot on. The weather sealing has been improved by adding rubber sealing around the battery door and side doors. The larger buttons give it better control in your hands. The slightly larger grip feels better in your hand and with the 70-200mm lens attached it doesn’t cloud your hand. Mitch found a heard of elk and usually a 70-200 is not long enough to get a good shot. With the high megapixels and in-body stabilization this camera has to offer, cropping shouldn’t be a problem. Eye autofocus test is next on the agenda, with this focus system the response time is most impressive! One thing that hasn’t really changed on this camera is the rear screen, and comparing it with other cameras it falls short.
Now we go to the studio to talk about a few things we didn’t like about the camera like the 120+ megabyte image files, a little lag in the camera, and the feel of the rubber on the camera. Last he shows some images that were taken with the camera to show off the 61mp resolution.
