My First Time Trying BAS RELIEF Clay Sculpting!

I've never done this before, but I wanted to try it to continue our sculpting theme for this month here on The Art Club. Bas relief is sort of 3D, sort of flat. It's really fun and the possibilities are limitless! You can use any kind of clay to do this.

The clay I used is natural air dry clay that I bought at an art store. Sometimes it can be found at dollar stores, but it should not smell like chemicals. This is just basic natural clay that can also be found in nature. See my video "The Long Weekend Roadtrip and Finding Natural Clay" in that video I found clay in the woods at my inlaws house. You may have clay right in your back yard!

If you have no clay tools, some other great options you could use are a butter knife, pencil, toothpick, popsicle stick, wire shaped into a loop, manicure tools...you can use anything really! Just look around and I'm sure you will find a lot of useful things.
