Monte Baldo Cable car and Malcesine Old Town, Lake Garda, July 2022

After a 50 minute bus ride from Garda to Malcesine we took the cable car ride to the top of Monte Baldo 1800 metres above sea level. Unwittingly we arrived at 11.00am which proved to be in the middle of rush hour and we had to queue for 15 minutes for tickets and then another 45 minutes before boarding the cable car. The cable car cabins rotate as they travel up so that everyone gets views from all directions. The experience was well worth it even though the clouds descended on the summit almost as soon as we got there. The old town of Malcesine is very quaint and it's like being transported back in time. There are many lovely restaurants and a beach with many kinds of water sports available.
