Ep 046 - Deforking the Meade 10inch LX200GPS SCT

Due to the problems I was having with guiding my Meade LX200GPS 10" telescope last year, I switched over to my EQ6 Pro mount in order to still be able to image while I worked on trying to repair/diagnose the issue.
In the end, I spent the last 4-5 months imaging at a short focal length of around 480mm, but a lot of those targets are gone this season, and now it's galaxy season, which will benefit from the long focal length of the 10" scope.

Rather than spend all season trying to work out what was wrong with the mount, I decided to move the mount out of the forks and on to the EQ6. It took a few months for the appropriate adapter to arrive from China, but it finally arrived, and I was super excited to get the OTA on to the new mount.

Until... I didn't factor how large the scope was, and now it hits the walls of the observatory. 2 months of planning has come unstuck. Currently working on plans to solve the problem without physically dismantling the observatory and re-centering it!
UPDATE: I put 4 new bolts more central in the dome and moved the pier (which was still on the isolated centre mass separated from the slab)
