Use Trace Tool in Silhouette Studio to To Cut Out Anything on Silhouette or Cricut

Have you seen an image you wanted to put on a shirt or a bag or a cup, but didn't know how to make that happen? Watch my tutorial on how to take a jpg or png image and trace it in Silhouette Studio to create something you can cut out on your cutting machine. The world is your oyster - if you can capture the image, you can cut out the image. Let's use Heat Transfer Vinyl to decorate a t-shirt.

I am in the mood to make a shirt. A friend sent me an image that he'd gotten from another friend. It is a cardinal bird (collegiate mascot) and since I am a Louisville Cardinal fan (don't be a hater) - I think I need him on a shirt. I have the shirt all ready - but I could not find that image in an SVG format. When that happens - I use my Silhouette Studio tracing feature to help me out.

I will take you step by step through the process of bringing the jpg or png file into the Silhouette software - through tracing it and getting it ready to cut out. I am going to cut it out in heat transfer vinyl, but it could be cut out of any material your Silhouette or Cricut cutting machine can handle. Because I have the Silhouette Studio Business edition, I can save the cut I create in SVG file format which will enable me to cut it out on any cutting machine (Cricut, Silhouette, Brother) that uses SVG files and that includes my Cricut.
