Today plastic pollution has taken an epidemic form. It is clear from the fact that the amount of plastic we throw every year can make the earth round four times. Realizing the seriousness of the situation, Prime Minister Modi also appealed to people in a radio program 'Man Ki Baat' to stop plastic pollution. Plastic pollution affects not only the seas but also the freshwater bodies, land, animals and humans
on a large scale.

आज के समय में प्लास्टिक प्रदूषण ने गंभीर रूप धारण कर लिया है| यह इस तथ्य से
स्पष्ट होता है कि हरेक वर्ष हम जितना प्लास्टिक फेंक देते है उससे धरती को 4 बार घेरा
जा सकता है। स्थिति की इस गंभीरता को समझते हुए प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने भी रेडियो कार्यक्रम ‘मन की बात’ में लोगों से प्लास्टिक प्रदूषण को रोकने के लिये अपील की है। प्लास्टिक प्रदूषण न सिर्फ समुद्रों बल्कि ताजे जल निकायों, भूमि, जानवरों और मनुष्यों को भी बड़े पैमाने पर प्रभावित करता है।
