We booked this tour from tropicana hostel in Antigua. We heard this tour was something not to miss in Antigua, however it's not an easy hike to camp. We set out early in the morning to hike Acatenango, with a guide who only spoke Spanish. We took many stops along the way and luckily the volcano wasn't as hard to hike as we thought! We made it to camp by afternoon, where we saw the infamous Volcan De Fuego! That evening we watched violent eruptions until late into the night, when we could see lava running down the volcano. We were up early in the morning to climb to the summit of Volcan Acatenango. It took little over an hour, but it wasn't easy, as we were all really tired, being kept awake listening to Fuego's eruptions all night. The summit was breathtaking. The sunrise over the exploding volcano is a sight not even justified by this video! I highly suggest seeing it for yourself!
